Mayan Hands is a nonprofit fair trade organization with a mission to empower Mayan women in Guatemala. Partnering for more than 25 years with Mayan artisans, we believe that when women are provided the opportunity to earn a fair return for their work, they have a path to dignity and self-respect that has far-reaching benefits for them, their families, and their communities.
Mayan women love to weave, as weaving keeps them connected to the sacred Mayan universe. Through fair trade, Mayan Hands supports women artisans in their quest to bring their families out of extreme poverty while they continue to live within the Mayan culture they cherish.
